Of course we say the sun is important to us, and the question is why. The answer is because of the following reasons.
1. Sun provides energy (light and heat). Without energy, our earth will be very cold and we all die.
2. We have oxygen to breath because of the sunlight. Plants absorb sunlight, convert it to food to live on, and grow. In the process of converting sunlight to food, plants provide us oxygen. At the mean time, plants are important to us and other animals for foods and other uses.
3. Sunlight can be used to make electricity (solar cell) to warm up houses and to run cars (electric cars).
4. Sunlight can heat the liquid which in turn can heat houses and building.
5. Sunlight heats ocean and land, which in turn heat air in the atmosphere and make it to circulate as wind. From the wind we can make wind energy (make electricity and used for other things).
6. Sunlight makes Earth's water cycle by evaporating oceans, seas, and lakes. The water vapors turn into clouds and fall back to ground in form of rain. The water from the rain flows back to lakes, seas, and oceans by rivers or sipping to ground. We then make dams on rivers to make electricity.
7. Most of oxygens in our atmosphere was left from the primitive microbes & plants. The primitive microbes & plants absorbed sunlight and converted it into food. In the process they gave off oxygen to atmosphere. That is part of why animals were born. Animals need air to breath.
8. Sunlight played a major role in fossil fuels (natural gas, petroleum, and coal). The primitive microbes & plants absorbed sunlight, converted it into their food, and grew. When they died and decayed, they left their decomposed organic materials buried gradually under the ground. When millions years passed by, these organic materials transformed into fossil fuels. Then we use our high tech to extract them and turned them into regular fuels.
9. Your opinion....
